We recommend to take out of the elements from the Valentine’s box at least one hour before consumption.

A few tips for a smooth preparation: all oven dishes are made to be prepared on the same temperature. Therefore, start by heating up the oven at 200°C.

Every oven has a different intensity, which is why our given times can differ. Regularly check the color of the food and if it is cooked enough.

BRUSSEL SPROUTS AND GRAVY PIE

Elements: Vegetables, gravy, filo, parsley oil

Step 1
Open the container and stir the vegetables with the gravy.

Step 2
Once given a generous stir remove the filo from the wrapped plastic. Place the phyllo on your cutting board. Make sure the layers are directly on top of each other.

Step 3
Place the vegetables and gravy in a line following the sheet of phyllo. Now imagine your wrapping a burrito. We will now gently roll the phyllo into a sort of log.

It can be either baked as a log or if you wet your hands a bit you can give it a different shape. Be careful because phyllo is fragile and can break easily.

Step 4
Bake on an ovenproof baking tray for 25 – 30 minutes at 200°C. Check regularly so that the cake does not burn.

Step 5
Place the phyllo onto a plate and keep warm. Serve with a drizzle of parsley oil when ready.

SMASHED PATATS BRAVAS

Elements: Taters, salsa brava

Step 1
Open the container and place all the taters onto a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2
We need to do a hulk smash on all the taters.

Step 3
Drizzle them with a little oil and, salt and pepper.

Step 4
Bake them in the oven at 200°C for 15 minutes or until GBD (golden brown and delicious). They should turn crunchy and caramelized.

Step 5
Meanwhile take the container of Salsa Brava and place the contents in a small bowl or small saucepan.

It’s recommended to heat the Salsa Brava au bain marie (in a bowl on a pan with hot water. Place the bowl in the pan but make sure that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water).

For the microwave: Heat for 1 minute or less and stir well after removing.

Step 6
Place the potatoes in a bowl. Place on the table with the sauce in a separate bowl.

BEETROOT HEART-TARE AND SALSIFY FRIES

Elements: salsify fries, heart mould, diced beetroot, BBQ oil, garnishes, puffed rice.

Step 1
Place the salsify fries onto a baking sheet (can be the same as potatoes and pie). Bake at 200°C for 8 – 10 minutes. To guarantee it’s hot, poke it with a toothpick to see how the middle feels and if not grab one to eat to test.

In the meantime grab the heart mould, diced beetroot, BBQ oil with garnishes, and the puffed riced. 

Step 2
Remove the cornichons and silver onions from the BBQ oil. Chop in half and keep separate.

Step 3
Pour the BBQ oil over the diced beetroot and mix. Then grab a little love (salt and pepper) and season the beetroot to your liking.

Step 4
When ready grab a spoon, plate and heart mould. Place the mould on the plate, wherever you desire. Gently pack the mould with diced beetroot. When ready pull the mould off and you should have one of 2 hearts.

Step 5
Wipe the ring clean so the beetroot doesn’t stick and repeat the same process for the second heart.

Check regularly whether the salsify fries are done by gently pricking the center with a toothpick. Are they soft? Then they’re done. Place them in a small bowl and keep them warm before serving.

Step 6
Once both hearts are placed, decorate them with the garnishes; place puffed rice on top and halved onions and cornichons on the side.

Step 7
Remove the ssalsify fries from the oven (if you haven’t already done so). Serve the Beetroot Heart-tare together with salsify chips and the smoked shallot cream in a separate bowl on the side.

ARTICHOKES AND PIMENT D’ESPELETTE CREAM

** We recommend warming the Artichokes last minute to ensure they don’t turn cold while waiting. **

**The Artichokes will be delivered wrapped and prepped or unwrapped and fresh. Got delivered the wrapped version? Go straight to step 4 afters step 1.**

Step 1
As mentioned in the suggestions, when the artichokes reach room temperature (after an hour), remove them from the vacuum bag.

The whole artichoke needs to be halved. Carefully cut the artichoke in half with a bread knife.

Step 2
Once halved there are these little hairs that are resting above the heart of the artichoke. In order to be able to pull the hairs out carefully slice them off at the base. Make sure not to go too deep so the artichoke stays intact.

Step 3
Pull the hairs out with your fingers and use the damp paper towel to remove any small hairs left that are stuck onto the inside of the artichoke.

Step 4
Once all steps are done the artichoke will be ready to heat up.

Warm up the artichoke for 6 mins total in a pot of boiling water (with the wrapping on it).

Another option is to place in the oven for 4 minutes after all the roasted components have been removed. The temperature of the oven has to be around 150° minimum.

Be careful taking them out of the wrapping or out of the oven as they will be hot.

Step 5
Once warm, season the outer and inner layer with a drizzle of oil and love (salt and pepper).

Step 6
To be served with piment d’espelette cream and Parmevegano.

BREAD AND CHARRED ONION BUTTER

Elements: Bread, charred onion butter

** It’s recommended to add the buns to the Brussels sprouts-and-gravy-pie and the Patatas Bravas in the oven for baking in the last 5 minutes.**

Step 1
Splash a bit of water on the bread to create a crunchy crust when a when baking.

Step 2
Bake the bread in the oven (200°C) for roughly 5 minutes. It will get GBD (golden brown and delicious) all over.

BBQ’D LEEKS AND ROMESCO

Step 1
Remove the leeks from the vacuum bag.

Step 2
Place on the cutting board. Carefully chop the leeks in half (lenghtwise).

Step 3
Discard the first layer of skin that is slightly charred.

Step 5
Place the leeks onto a plate.

Step 6
Meanwhile, take the container of Romesco and place the contents in a small bowl.

Step 7
We recommended to heat the Romesco au bain marie (in a bowl in a pan with hot water. Place the bowl in the pan but make sure that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water).

For the microwave: Heat for 1 minute or less and stir well after removing.

Step 8
Finish the plate by combining the leek and sauce.

FINGER-LICKING GOOD OLIVES

Step 1
Shake the container to mix the olives with the brine.

Step 2
Open the container and place into your favorite small bowl.

CAMEMBERTI AND RASPBERRY COFFEE COMPOTE

Step 1
Remove the cheese from the packaging.

Step 2
Cut into 6 – 8 wedges.

Step 3
Place on a small plate.

Serve the compote on the side or directly on top of the cheese.
